At Longoriahaus, your dog will begin their refresher training program in a controlled learning facility. This environment allows us to introduce new concepts and build foundational skills with minimal distractions. Once your dog has a solid grasp of these basics, they’ll transition to a comfortable home environment with their assigned dog trainer. This crucial step helps them generalize their learning to a more typical home setting, making the transition back to your house smoother. To ensure personalized attention, each dog trainer cares for a limited number of dogs at any given time.

Off-leash training and obedience training share many of the same foundations like teaching your dog to listen, follow commands, and behave appropriately. The key difference is the level of freedom your dog gains with off-leash training. Instead of needing a leash to stay in control, your dog learns to respond to you reliably from a distance, even around distractions. We also use low-level e-collar communication, which allows for much more precision and clarity during training, helping your dog understand exactly what’s expected—no matter where they are.

In our Board & Train option, your dog stays with us Monday through Friday for both weeks, allowing for maximum focus and immersion. With Day Training, you drop your dog off in the morning and pick them up in the afternoon, giving you the opportunity to enjoy evenings together while still getting professional training during the day. Both include homework and at-home trainings that are recommended to imbed the well-behaved behavior in your lifestyle.

We do work with dogs that show aggression toward people or other dogs, but it depends on the case. Our approach is thoughtful and safety-focused, and we’ll assess the situation to determine if our program is the right fit. In many cases, we can help address the behavior through clear structure, communication, and behavior-focused training. However, if the aggression is extreme or poses a significant safety risk, we may refer you to a specialist who focuses solely on severe aggression cases. Either way, we’re here to point you in the right direction and support you however we can.
