Getting Off The Racetrack And Onto The Dance Floor

Many times, when we walk our dogs, we focus on getting from point A to B. That “racetrack” mentality can actually work against you. Are you struggling on walks with your dog? Is your dog pulling and dragging you all over the place? Here is a tip on how to change that:
Start out with a slack leash. Put your arm by your side and just start moving with your dog. When your dog gets ahead of you, just make an about turn and immediately go to the other end of the “dance floor“. Repeat this any time your dog starts to take the lead or pulls on the leash. This will teach your dog, that there is a boundary. A leash that goes from tight to slack is a learning cue for your dog.
Walking with your dog is a lot more enjoyable than just walking your dog or your dog walking you.
