There are a lot of different things you can try.
One of the things I have heard a lot about is CBD oil. I am not ready to recommend it, but it seems to come up more frequently in conversations with clients.
Since I am a dog trainer, I recommend that you train your dog. Get the dog’s mind on something that they have done before and been really successful at. For example, focusing on you, when they are walking or staying on their place. The moment fireworks go off, start doing something with your dog. By that I do not mean petting or cuddling your dog, because that just feeds their anxiety. What I do want you to do is start working your dog’s brain, so that they don’t get too focused on what is going on outside.
Prior to fireworks going off, take your dog for a walk or play, so that the dog is tired.
One thing I have found to work for my dogs is diffusing essential oils, particularly lavender.
Some people find, that turning the TV volume up to drown out the noise of the fireworks can help.
